A Week in Vienna (I didn’t go anywhere else)

Grüs Gott Y’all!
I am back with another blog post. Let’s jump right in!

Ok so there’s this REALLY BIG Church…

On Tuesday, we toured Stephansdom Cathedral, located in the heart of the city. This Church is MASSIVE and at one point was the tallest structure in the world (thanks to the Hapsburgs.) I can’t really describe the sheer beauty of this Church, so I included a lot pictures.

This is the tomb of Fredrick the 3rd. It’s built from 30+ tons of red marble and survived without damage through WWII
Hapsburgs and Heavy Bones

After touring the Main Cathedral. We went to the catacombs underneath. There we saw where the previous bishops were buried, and the best of all, the steel vessels holding the organs of the previous Hapsburg rulers. Then after seeing the renovated catacomb, we traveled to the older catacomb (which looked exactly how you think it would.) We saw the rooms which were turned into bomb shelters during the 2nd World War and rooms full of bones from old mass graves. There are no photos of this part of the tour because, I would rather not get cursed by a dead person for disrespecting there resting place.

Gathering the Magic: Now in German!

I play a lot of Magic the Gathering. If you didn’t know that, now you do. Because I am abroad and I really like playing this trading card game, I went to a local game store about 15 minutes from Das Mill to play in a little tournament. It was difficult due to all the cards being in German. Because of that (and multiple gameplay error) I lost my first round and dropped the tournament. However, now I have cool new cards, which are in German!

This Is one of the Cards I obtained. You can look at the differences between the English and German Versions
Wrapping up

That’s all for this week. Like I said, I stayed in Vienna so I didn’t get to do much. However, it was nice to rest for once.

Stay Coolish!

Bonus! Uh oh. Red Bull.
Best and worst decision I’ve made so far this trip was to try Red Bull. I can’t stop.
